Vacancy for Receptionist/Arts and Cultural Events Assistant at the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation

DUTIES

  • General reception duties including answering telephone calls; greeting and looking after guests; arranging and serving refreshments.
  • Communicating professionally with various partners by managing emails, phone calls, setting up internal/external meetings.
  • Assisting the Programme Director with event planning and hospitality arrangements; regular evening work required (approximately once a week).
  • Providing administrative support to deliver evening events, including receiving guests, setting up PowerPoint slides, TV monitor and audio along with drink receptions.
  • Providing technical and administrative assistance for art exhibitions and communicating with artists.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Native or near-native English language skills
  • Some office/admin experience and good telephone manner
  • Multitasking skills and time management skills
  • Fully computer-literate
  • Able to work as part of a team but also to use own initiative
  • Some understanding of Japanese language and culture
  • Knowledge of Japanese contemporary art an advantage

SALARY

  • c. £28,000
