Daiwa Scholarships alumnus and artist Carl Randall has a new Japan-themed painting on show at the Hampstead Art Society Summer Exhibition until 11 July at Gallery 8 in Mayfair, central London. One of our 2017 Daiwa Scholars Tumi Markan is currently helping to run the international component of the campaign – to raise the capital needed to buy the famous “Yamatorige (山鳥毛)”, an art sword designated as a National Treasure of Japan, for the internationally-recognised Bizen Osafune Sword Museum – both creating and running the online crowdfunding page, as well as working with the museum’s master craftspeople to create promotional and informative content for the project.
