Carl Randall included in two London Portrait Painting Exhibitions

A new Japan painting by Daiwa Scholarship alumnus and artist Carl Randall has been selected for this year’s Royal Society of Portrait Painters Exhibition, 7 to 19 May. ‘Graveyard Getsuho’ will be included in the show at the Mall Galleries in central London. Rest in Peace, Arthur Stockwin

In early January 2026, all of us at the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation were saddened to hear of the death of Professor Arthur Stockwin. He was a towering figure in Japanese Studies in the UK, and a long-standing friend of the Daiwa Foundation, sometimes speaking at or moderating our events, but most memorably as a member of the interview panel assessing potential Daiwa Scholars.

Tsuyoshi Anzai featured in the Royal British Society of Sculptors bursary awards group exhibition until 20 May 2016

This vibrant exhibition showcases the work of the ten winners of the RBS Bursary Awards 2015 who represent the best and brightest emerging contemporary sculptors and includes work by Tsuyoshi Anzai. Anzai graduated with an MA in Film and New Media from the Tokyo University of the Arts in 2011, and is the 2015-2016 recipient of the ‘Core Programme’ residency at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas.
