Skinship is a collection of poems by author Alexandra Corrin-Tachibana, who like Carl, spent 10 years living in Japan. The title Skinship comes from a Japanese loan word fusing

To the Japanese Embassy last night for a reception with the Emperor and Empress. There were a lot of rules and regulations for those attending, but this seemed understandable enough. Photographs were also forbidden, so I don’t have any. Standing with the Empress in front of a gold screen, the Emperor gave a short speech in slow, but extremely clear, English, thanking the people of the UK for their support after the Japanese earthquake last March.
